Anyone running with this enabled?
Ive seen some screens of the R8500 running the first version of Truform and it looks very nice, according to some blurb i read there is no performance impact, however im not sure i believe it. Is anyone runngin this in their applications and if so what are the costs to performance?

It is set "always Off' on my 9800Pro, i didnt even know what it was untill i saw this thread an went and looked for it.
I'm going to turn it on now and see what its like...will report back.
[Edit] You can't really turn it on, you just set it to 'application prefrence'. Does this mean the game needs to support the feature??

Yeah, Application Preference or OFF
here's the quickest and easiest way to see TrueForm in action

App Preference for me. Don't know if it ever runs though. There should be a value you can tweak to change it to always on I'd imagine. There is for nearly everything else, unless Truform can gause some serious problems in some games.

I know that RTCW has the option to enable Truform. That's the only one I remember......

i've read it was a hardware deal for the 8500 and it really kicked **** then, but never caught on, newer than that it is software and must be supported (can not be forced) and hardly any (if any) games support it.
however, alot of the newer cards support truform 2.0, i'm not sure how popular/ forceable that it.
btw, truform is basically triangulation in the t&l engine.
search for truform on google, it's all over the place.

From what ive read, the potential problems dont sound paticularly serious, it's more likely to cause the odd object to be rendered slightly incorrectly than anythign by the sounds of it

Well if there is a value, I do not know it. Might want to try B3D or Rage3D forums, if anyplace knows it, it would be one of those two.
