My motherboard will not boot, only has power so I put my diagnostics card in which said that it was error c6 - (award bios) which is supposed to mean "Cache presence test" External Cache size detection, what does this mean and how do I fix it?
Thanks

To say a computer/motherboard wont boot is very vague.
So you turn on your PC.
What do you see on the monitor??
Do you see any error messages??
Do you here any bleeping noises from your PC
Does your operatimg sytem (Windows) try to load??
The more specific you are,the more helpfull we all can be.

Well said, 101.
Is this a new motherboard?
Is it an older board that has been it fine
working?
Have you added any new hardware recently.

Sorry I'll be more specific.
1. Yes there is power to the motherboard
2. But nothing on screen, no beeps.
3. It is a old motherboard that has been working okey, a Pentium 133, no new hardware has been added.
That is why I put my diagnostics card in to see what error message that gave me the diagnostic card is a costronic pro pc testing card and I get a bios error of C6.
Thanks

Since it is reporting that it can't correctly identify the cache type and size,
open up the case and reseat the Cache module
(I'm assuming its not onboard chips.) Try this first to see what happens.

You say the MB doesn't boot, do you mean it doesn't get to the POST or that you don't know because the screen remains blank.
Is there any hard disk activity that sounds like its starting Windows, but, with a dark screen?
It probably doesn't POST, right?
I wonder if the BIOS has been corrupted?
by a dying/dead battery?
Any thoughts?
