Someone PLEASE help, I loaded Cart Precision Racing onto my HD knowing 1st thing was to download the 101 Patch UP. to make it a GOOD game. This I did BUT when I go to extract to Patch it says an error occurred for me to check my disc space - I did BUT knew I had plenty, I have 4GB left unused on a 6.4GB drive.
Finally I decided that maybe if I did it all over, I uninstalled it, defragged my HD, then reloaded the game and downloaded the patch again BUT I get the very same message and cannot therefore install the patch.
Does anyone know what's going on and what I can do - to try to get help from MS is like dealing with the government - headache even trying to figure out where/how to get the **** help from them.

If the update is a zipped file unzip it to a temp folder, cut the extracted files then paste them into the games system directory if it has one, also make sure you have all the required drivers for the game (direct X) if it is needed...
Let me know if this was any help I had the same issue with Unreal.

TKS 4 attempt to aid/help me - I went back in there and I tried it, I noticed that when I rt. clicked on the WinZippedUp symbol it gave me an option I had never noticed - to "Create a Self Extractor exe." I went it for it, 1st time sent to Temp, ended up super crashing machine - Stepped up to plate again and this time I told it self extract right in that same folder - It uzipped then said it COULD NOT do something in there and I had my 3rd CRASH/freeze up for this day. Machine is getting VERY unstable.
Can't figure this out - I had this game a couple years ago on a lot lesser machine and much smaller HD and NEVER had problem one using this lousy Patch and now - it's the BUNK (to put it lightly). I wish there was some easier way to get help from BILL - but he/they put 10,000 barriers between you and Tech Support - it's like going thru a frigging maze to access their "SUPPORT" HA!
TKS - got any other ideas 4 me?

Trash that file.
Go here and download the executable patch.
No need to unzip.

TKS Bleeding Edge - I sure was hoping that your suggestion was going to be the WINNER, but darn it, I deleted out the old patch material and went to Avault (My favorite WebZine) and downloaded the Patch for 3rd time - BUT, when clicked to extract same lousy error message, starts to extract, THEN,
Error found while extracting, check disc space."
What a BUMMER! Have spent most of this day just trying to patch up this game - I had this ame game a couple years ago on a "lesser" machine and had NO problems with this patch up. Why now beats me!
TKS 4 trying, Michael

No.no.no.
That file isn't a zipped file. There is no need to extract it.
Just double click on the icon and the installer starts.

Bleeding Edge, when I double click the "unzipped" download (CD icon) for it to install - that is when I get the error, disc space message (right after it starts to install, not unzip, I should have said)
Any other ideas?

TKS ALOT and God Bless! Bleeding Edge - - I just came back to tell thank you again and tell you I got it installed FINALLY - just before I read your "nail on the head" new and "right ON" advice. Someone at other site advised to empty TEMP folder, I was scared to BUT I just went in and looked at alot of that stuff and saw it was OLD hat, NO use anymore and I started deleting them and then some - did not totally empty (still unsure about going possibly too far).
Anyway - that MS tip iw right on, don't know how you found it BUT - went back in afterwards and NOW it installed w/o a hitch.
Halleluia!!
I can once again RACE and REST! (hehe)
