A co-worker wants to sell me their used P-3 500 Mhz computer. Here is it's stats (to the best of his memory):

What should I offer him?

That first computer is quite a bit better than yours. The CPU is much much faster since it is a 500mhz cpu and a P3. It also has a lot of Ram for an older computer. I would offer him $100 for the computer, no more than that. I sold a computer for $150 that had:

Athlon 900
384 Ram
Geforce 2 mX400 64mb
Soundblaster PCI128
cdrom
all the other stuff

$100 sounds about right. No more than that though!

If you can afforf $300-400, you can build a new computer that will be WAY faster than this "newer" computer. But if you can't, then I guess it will do.

Maybe only $75 actually, after taking another look.

Dude for $150 I will sell you a MSI K7 Turbo - AMD 1.33 - Samsung 256m PC133. You can use all your other pieces to finish it off. This is the way to upgrade.
