I am running ntbackup on a laptop so that when it is in the office it is scheduled to backup to the network drive. It worked for a while but now I get nothing. its schedules currently for daily and 9 am. What would stop the scheduler from starting this task?

Delete the task, and recreate it.

What account is it set to run with? I've had better results using the admin account rather than simply an administrator.

the schedule for backup was created as the login user name. The only user that I setup for this laptop.

what OS are you using? if you want to sync files, you should use offline files instead. ntbackup is more for tape backup rather than synchronization.

ack. You poor accursed soul. :(

I know restarting the removable storage service before each backup worked for tape drives, but probably not in your case.

You can try something like Beyond Compare:

stupid:mad:
All I needed to do was go to control panel: scheduled tasks to find out that it failed because of a password. I didn't realize that I would get info like that in the scheduled tasks because that is not where I set up the schedule.

Thanks

seems to be working now:t
