..hate to be a cheapo but... has anyone figured out how to save those Adobe PDF files without having to buy the full version of Adobe?

Since Adobe has obivously leveraged PDF into the position of becoming the defacto standard for internet downloadable files I guess that means I am stuck having to buy the whole program - I ..I ..feel so MSed by this...

Lucky you - Yeah, some PDFs I can download and save directly but others seem only to download and open with Adobe and then I cannot save them.

You have to have Exchange or Distiller. I used both just this morning. I can even put in hypertext links in pdf's.

Well, after some unsuccessful efforts to even download and open PDFs using Adobe AR4 and MSIE, I tried it with Netscape and it not only worked perfectly and integrated nicely into Nav4.5, but there was a nice little floppy disk icon right next to the printer icon in the Adobe AR4 display screen - it saves PDFs any way I like it - go figure.....

Thanks everyone, now I can tell my friend at work -- but then again he was going to buy the full version and give me a copy...oh not that I would accept it..no..no

Thank you 800XL! That certainly helps.

B'E' - I upgraded to Adobe 4 but still do not see a "save" or " save as" feature in the program - am I missing the obivous?

I don't see it either CMonster.

From what I could gather from the Help is, you have to save the online .pdf to your hdd, then open with Reader. Not save via Reader.

Are you guys trying to save from the File Menu? The save choice is grayed out right?

Just use the little diskette button within Reader's interface. The one between the red Adobe logo button and the printer button.

Hope this puts a smile on your face.
