WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER..NO DISPLAY

the other day i was using real player...and i was downloading some vids from the net...well the audio was there but no image..well i uninstalled real player and tried another clip that was wmp and low and behold..the same thing..can hear the audio but there isnt any image...can someone tell me what has happened..os windows xp pro..thanking you all in advance:t

chances are you're short of codecs. Try the "defilerpak" a helpfully compiled set of easy to install common codecs

i will try this but the fact of the matter is the file i tried to play worked before and now it isnt

sell2ucheap, similar thing happened to me. After installing WMP 9, which ever media file I played, I could only hear audio. Bloody annoying! Well, after restarting the computer, i could watch it. Queer eh?
