Hello friends. This is an interesting (and irritating) problem. After booting up I begin to navigate my computer. The cursor begins (and continues) to pulsate between an hour glass and a arrow. Back and forth. Back and forth. I just today swapped my Cordless Desktop (Logitech) and hooked up my trusty IBM keyboard. Keyboard works, but the cursor/hour glass pulsating routine picked up where it left off. Any ideas? I am uncertain exactly what I may have done, e.g., install software, etc., when this PROBLEM first reared its ugly head. Thanks in advance.

Might be a long shot, but it happens...
Turn off MS Office FindFast from Control panel and remove MS office from the startup group.

Thanks for your time. I had removed those items a while ago for different reasons. The phenomenon may only occur in certain programs. I am checking. Again, thank you.
I have same problem @ work on IBM 486 DX2-66.
Someone told that the cause might be that battery is about to die. It may be true since that IBM is '93(updated BIOS-'97), and I don't believe that battery was ever replaced, on boot up memory count very slow.
Also, may it be because of HD Overlay?
I don't think it may be sofware related, I'm thinking that's hardware problem.
Anyway, will be looking to elinimate that annoying thing.
Had the same thing happen when running RC5 once. Thats why I haven't ran it in eons!
A battery is out of the question, once the PC is up on the OS, the CMOS is not even used and the chip can be removed completely and all will work fine. (I have done it)
