Does the system hang (stop) during the hardware inspection? Are you getting error messages? Is your CD-Rom IDE or SCSI?

Do these basics first.

If your BIOS supports bootable CD-Rom, disable it in the bios setup. Also take the CD-Rom out of the boot seqeunce list of drives. Temporarily disable All caching, such as CPU caching, the L2 cache, shadowing...disable it all.

Please answer the following question.

What problem are you having?

1. IS there a problem during the first (pre-Setup and text mode) phase of Setup?

2. DOES the installation stop during or after the GUI-based and first boot phase of Setup?

3. Installation stops during the reboot from character-based to GUI-based Setup mode.

NT is incorrectly detecting your hardware. Probably due to the AMD chip and the motherboard using a PCI 2.1 compliant card. Try taking all the expansion cards out except for the video card and try re-installing. NT also has problems with dual IDE controllers. Disable the Secondary IDE Controller in the BIOS. Disable PCI/IDE Bus Mastering also. If you use SCSI disable ALL IDE controllers.

If if you can't solve your problem there, Call the following phone number: 1-425-635-7018
This is Microsoft's NT support number. Since this is most likely a long distance call, after you reach a tech, have him call you back. They will help you until the problem is resovled. If possible.
