I set up a clone with new atx case and motherboard using my old devices. Everything is finally ok after several attempts except the floppy has never worked. Bios recognizes it the green light is on all the time. It will not read any diskettes because whether in dos or W98 I get message saying drive not ready.
I bought a new floppy drive with cable still same problem.
I have switched the cable around but then the bios does not recognize the floppy drive.
Any other ideas.

REPLACE YOUR CABLE AND MAKE SURE ALL CONNECTORS ARE IN LINE W/ THE RED LINES ON PIN #1.

I had a similar problem, plus mine said "access denied, see your administrator" -- Well their ain't one, just me.

What I did was put in the win98 cd, install, but I had second thoughts at the serial number part, and then exited. I have not the foggiest notion why, but everything works ok now. plus I have a spare floppy drive for my next unit!!
It must be some file checking & fixing going on before install.

hope this helps...
