Hi All

Running Win98se with Sony DRU500A drive.

Can not say when I first had the problem but windows explorer used to report the capacity of a DVD+RW correctly but now says that it is max 1.99GB even if there is (in one case 3.36GB of data on it) more data on it.

This problem also "shows" using WinOnCD 5 PE I can burn CDs but it trashes DVDs.

My other dedicated DVD type programs that burn from their own interface (Movie Factory 2 and Archive Creator) run and burn fine.

Any ideas as what may have happened here?

:)

The first place I'd lay the blame would be Windows 98. But only because I hate that operating system. Second I'd say its the blanks you're using. Have you tried a different brand of dvd +/-rw? That could be all that it is. Also, have these dvd-rw's been written to and erased already? Do a full erase next time and see if it changes it at all.

how much free space is on the drive where the burning program's temp folder is located?

Hi

I have the "temp" file pointing to drive with 1.66GB free space and I am not writing an image first.

I can point it to a drive with in excess of 20GB if needed, do think that would help?
