I installed the Vantec Iceberg Coppery HSF on my KT400 northbridge and my NB temps went several degrees higher across the board. I was using the stock heatsink(the fan broke). I used the stock thermal paste and I used WAY too much. I obviously need to remove this HSF and apply some Arctic Silver 5 to correct this problem.
I am using the plastic pins that the Vantec kit came with. Is it possible for me to remove these pins without removing the motherboard? When I removed the stock plastic pins I just yanked them out with channel locks and they both broke. I don't want to do that again. Any tips? Or do I just have to remove the entire MOBO?

Thanks Bill. Looks like I will just deal with higher temps until I actually need to remove the mobo. That's just too much work to lower temps.
