well i have kind of a situation...my bro in law drove me to his place and i built up a slot1 board machine for him and removed his socket7 system while he was building up another slot1 system... anyways as the story goes he wants to get rid of his old socket7 system and old lx slot1 motherboard, and he wants around 140$ for the whole thing (the socket 7 system has a 1.6gb maxtor...Quantum 3d Raven pci, sound blaster 16 value, and a cyrix m2 333mhz.....
( the lx intel mobo is by itself)

just thinking if i should give him 140$ for it for my second machine or save up and scrap good parts from my current machine for a newer one instead...or buy a video card... thanx all......
just kind of a dead end road of what i should/shouldn't do ya know??

Jokostel - a second system is always nice to have for back-up.

I think Cmonster is right. Go and get what you can. Having a second system is nice. Plus you can learn how to network them together, that's if you don't know how. Once you learn that and understand all the advantages of having a network, you'll never want to be without one if you can help it. So if money permits, get it.

Ditto CMonster... it's good to have another PC, so when your re-install one PC, you can backup all your data on the other one.
And why not starting your home LAN ?
