I have just bought a vx pro motherboard. I have a cyrix m2 233 mx cpu, 16 mgs. 72 pin edo ram, stealth 2000 pci video card. I can hear it counting the memory but can't see anything on the monitor when I turn it on. Thanks to the response I received on this forum from Bleeding Edge, I have found the info on the jumper settings and have set them correctly. I have tried two different pci video cards to see if a bad video card might be the problem, but unless both cards(one is new and one is an older pulled card bought used) are bad, it has to be another problem. I can't flash the bios because I can't see anything on the screen when I turn it on. I am now wondering if I have a bad(new) CPU or a bad (new) motherboard. If anyone has any suggestions, I sure could use some help. Thanks

According to the copied post below, seems you may need to update your Bios.

But if just the boot screen you aren't seeing and you do get into the operating system okay, there is a setting in some bios' to enable/disable a quiet boot. Meaning you see the boot screen or not. Just hold down the "delete" key while the system is booting until the Bios SetUp appears. If not you may have to go the route of the post below.

The problem is with the VX-Pro+ chipset and Award BIOS combination. According to Eurone at www.eurone.com, who distributes the same board under EM-5800V+, the new version of the BIOS should correct the Cyrix 200+ problem. This same tandom also causes Windows 95 to revert to compatibility mode for some large hard drives. Flash the bios and update the controller software drivers and this should clear these problems up. This is however no guarantee.
