When attempting to format my hard drive, it gets to 84% and terminates. It sounds like the HD stops and starts spinning right before format stops. I've tried several times, and each time it stops when it reaches 84 percent. I have never had trouble with the drive, (I'm wiping it clean before I sell my system). Is my drive going bad? Thanks!

Your probably right about the drive going bad, however, try using FDISK first to delete all partions all. Primary, extended, logical, everything. Then repartition it with FDISK. ReBoot. Then try your formating one more time.
