I have a friend across the hall from me who wants to buy a computer...which iI believe is his first one...ever..

His personal uses are more general and also wants to check out some video stuff online..which I told him to get something..witha medium range video card

Although alot of you would opt. for him to get the parts separate and do it that way..I told him it would probably be best to purchase a system..alrready assembled..such as a Dell.. which would suit him fine....

Any other ideas....out there ???

I also know alot of people are going to suggest EBay..but I am not going that way...as he is trusting me on this....

Thanks for the input and suggestions...

That's what I would advise him to do also. Ebay would be my VERY LAST option.

I recommend this company (http://www.sysopt.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=159734) right here. they do excellent business and $650 is a pretty nice price:D

seriously tho, this is alot of computer for 650

the cherapest dell with the closest configuration is 958, and that has onboard while this has a radeon 9600

i know, shameless plug, but have him consider it. I hjave a perfect ebay record, available upon request

I will let him know...although considering he is buying his first one ..I don't know if its a good idea to trust someone he does not know .....this is in no way intended to question your honesty or integrety...

Heck,,If i had the extra memory ..I would buy it.... You shouldn't have much problem selling this..I would think..a very good systeem with alot of hareware and goodies..

You are riight about Dell..though,as I think they leave out alot for the price and I advised him to immediately get more memory ( 512) vs the 128 they give you and said in the future buying extra goodies would be better to buy separate at NewEgg or some place where their is a better choice of stuff...

The onboared video is uspect..but I am sure it would suit his current needs..as he is just starting out and won't be runniing any high end games ...
