I have heard from a friend that the Norton I'm using isn't as good as AVG, which catches stuff that Norton AV 2004 has been missing...
Can I install AVG without uninstalling Norton first?
If I do, will I regret it? Some guy once told me NEVER install two AV software programs at once.
I was thinking that if it seemed to work out well for me, that I might later uninstall the Norton AntiVirus and just go with the AVG.
And AVG is free, wow.

The more things you have running the less resources you have available for games & other applications. Norton is good. AVG is good. I wouldn't run both at once.

Of the three, I like AntiVir the best. It's less of a pain than Norton and more thorough than AVG. It's free too!

i've been using AVG for about a year and a half now, and its never given me too many problems...its caught all the little "nasties" right when they came on my computer too, i highly recommend it.
AVG Antivirus (http://www.grisoft.com)

Good info, thanks. Never heard of that Antivir, the forum is German so I guess it's based over there.
Any more views or personal preferences out there?

I have both Norton and Antivir installed. However, only Norton is on active guard.
I have found that Antivir was able to find a virus in a zipped file. It unzipps and scans. Though Norton didn't find this virus (I never unzipped the file).
Antivir seems faster also.
Just my $.02 :t

All this good info is more "grist for the mill" as it were.
