Is anyone else experiencing this?

From Start/Windows Update, once at the site, no matter how I try to get around it, it sends me around in circles - literally.

I cannot access Critical Files download, or any other download, it just keeps sending me back to start over, accomplishing nothing.

Win98-SP1, IE5, all ActiveX options enabled.

When you first noticed this happening, ideas, experiences will be helpful.

I have some thoughts, but hesitate to voice them unless I'm sure. Thank you.

I also have w98-sp1,ie5.0 and activex. I went to the site and clicked on product updates. A screen came up and said-
"PLEASE WAIT!
Windows update is customizing the product update catalog for your computer. This is done without sending any information to microsoft." Then like magic I'm there-critical updates, installed updates, etc.
Do you have cookies disabled or something like that(just guessing)?I would like to know how ms can "customize" the update catalog for your computer without sending any information to them!!I registered with ms several months ago and maybe that's how they know so much about my machine-huh? When I got to critical updates, I saved the url and tried to jump directly to it-no go! Back to the welcome to updates. Sorry but that's all I have right now.

Thanks for replying reddog. Yes, that's how it used to work for me but - not anymore.

I enabled cookies too.

Have you downloaded any patches lately? I'm wondering if installing certain patches has messed this up somehow... /forum/frown.gif

~~EDIT: Got it! All ActiveX enabled, permanent cookies enabled, and enabled Scripting - Active Scripting.

Thanks again. /forum/smile.gif
