Direct1 03-27-2004, 11:21 PM Welcome to SysOpt! :t Ad-aware Standard Edition (http://lavasoft.element5.com/support/download/) Spybot - Search & Destroy 1.2 (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=download) Both free. Make sure you update them before each scan. Good luck! :D Nacho 03-27-2004, 11:24 PM thank you! excelscior 03-28-2004, 10:25 AM I trust Adware6 myself. I've used Spybot for about 6 months now. And after running it, I use Adware6. Adware6 still finds at least half dozen trackers that Spybot overlooked! Assuming I have not run it for weeks. As for upgrading Spybot. I don't think you can....is there a way? Laterz.:t AdamST 03-28-2004, 11:55 AM seems to me ad-aware has new updates all the time, but spybot never does. Bigjakkstaffa 03-28-2004, 01:00 PM Also look into spywareblaster as a preventative measure --Jakk:t cat5e 03-28-2004, 01:10 PM Originally posted by AdamST seems to me ad-aware has new updates all the time, but spybot never does. It is would be better to use them both. Usually each one will discover few "Bugs" that the oher would not. In addtion scanning the Hard drive with these two free Programs, would add even more security. Link to: AntiVir Personal Edition 6.22.09.09 (http://www.majorgeeks.com/download955.html) Trojan Scanner Link to: aČ free (http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/free/) :t AdamST 03-28-2004, 01:49 PM I use Panda active scan, and www.trojanscan.com, i also use Nortan AntiVirus. Should i still use these two? Direct1 03-28-2004, 01:52 PM Originally posted by AdamST I use Panda active scan, and www.trojanscan.com, i also use Nortan AntiVirus. Should i still use these two? You could replace NAV with AntiVir Personal Edition 6.24.00.07 (http://www.majorgeeks.com/download955.html) if you wish but I wouldn't have both installed at the same time. Keep doing the on-line scans too. Good luck! :D AdamST 03-28-2004, 03:50 PM But nortan is better then AntiVir Personal Edition 6.24.00.07 and AVG right? Direct1 03-28-2004, 03:57 PM Umm... No. Why is it better? The others are free and do the same job. NAV is just bigger, not better. Nothing is 100% effective, that's why we need to do on-line scans. Good luck! :D AdamST 03-28-2004, 06:39 PM [edit] to many thread open at once. SysOpt.com
