what's the best spyware/registry scanning and removing program out there that is free?

Spybot - Search & Destroy 1.2 (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=download)

Both free. Make sure you update them before each scan.

I trust Adware6 myself. I've used Spybot for about 6 months now. And after running it, I use Adware6. Adware6 still finds at least half dozen trackers that Spybot overlooked! Assuming I have not run it for weeks. As for upgrading Spybot. I don't think you can....is there a way? Laterz.:t

seems to me ad-aware has new updates all the time, but spybot never does.

Also look into spywareblaster as a preventative measure

In addtion scanning the Hard drive with these two free Programs, would add even more security.

I use Panda active scan, and www.trojanscan.com, i also use Nortan AntiVirus. Should i still use these two?

You could replace NAV with AntiVir Personal Edition 6.24.00.07 (http://www.majorgeeks.com/download955.html) if you wish but I wouldn't have both installed at the same time. Keep doing the on-line scans too.

Umm... No. Why is it better? The others are free and do the same job. NAV is just bigger, not better. Nothing is 100% effective, that's why we need to do on-line scans.
