I have an abit bx6 with a p2 266 overclocked
75x4 win 98 Western Digital 5.1 gig HD
I have DMA enabled on it but it takes me about 23 minutes to copy a full zip disk to the hard drive where it only takes me about 8 minutes on my laptop which is a pentium 166.
I have the exact same drivers on both machines I also run the Iomega parellel port acceleration. I plug directly into the port on the back of the machine I thought that was a problem at first because I was going thru an A/B switch but it made no difference on my desktop. If you can think of any thing I might not have turned on or something please email me at gcoomer@highland.net or icq me at 4199676.

THANKS IN ADVANCE

In you bios,(pnp, pci & i/o setup) try setting parallel mode to ECP

Try going into your Control Panel/Performance/File System/...and enable the removable disk write behind cache
