boot up problem using cyrix 166mhz chip

I rebuilt this system using a i430VX motherboard and a cyrix 166mhz chip.
The BIOS come up fine detect the two hard drives etc.
When I try to load win95 I can get to the setup section using a cd-rom but it freezes at the setup after the system checks for hardware.
The box that comes up acts like it will load then goes white and the cd-rom stays active.
Nothing will happen no mouse movement.
The system locks up.
ANy Ideas would help.Thanks

I had this problem once before. Try disabling the virus detector in the CMOS. Let me know what happens.
