Has anyone tried release candidate 1 yet? Any news on specific apps/games that are likely to get broken?

Going to avoid it for a while till i get some idea of what will/won't work.

Not that i dont trust m$ to get it right first time but....

:x

I installed it on a computer. I have not had a problem with any apps and I have a lot of them. I was going to try my desktop publishing and graphics apps today. I used Lotus Notes 6, Office (Word Excel), HTML Kit, and a few others. No problems yet. It only took several hours to boot back to a logon after inital install which didn't seem to be normal.

XP SP2 broke my Citrix Client. I could not fix it. Uninstall Reboot, Reinstall, Reboot, try to connect to citrix server - still no good.

Updated versions, tried web only version, tried full download.

XP Sp2 is a no go for my company until Citrix fixes this.

It might not be a citrix issue. It might be something that happened because of SP2. Remeber, it is a Relase Candidate.

You might try checking all of the beefed up security settings because of SP2. It might be blocking something you need for the citrix client.

Reme, ber, it turns on the built in firewall, turns on auto updating and does some other stuff.

I loaded it on Saturday morning and it's running fine. I have to reduce the security setting to download virus updates but other than that it's running fine. I'm not on a network, though.

This is a link to a MS site for discussing problems and such:

Bill, is Woohoo good or bad?

I know it is because of SP2. It deals with the way Citrix operates. I am sure Citrix failed because of the changes of SP2 and Cirtrix is not working with these changes.

I had shut off the firewall and reduced security settings before I tried Citrix. The security was blocking access to my own LAN. But the system was operating perfectlt othere than Citrix. I must have used at least 30 different programs. Too badd I had to give up the system for a new employee. I ghosted the drive to Windows 2000 at about 4:30 my time. About 2 hours after I realized Citirx didn't work. No more tiem to mess around.
