My original motherboard had leaking caps, so I just upgraded it.
I now have an ECS P6ISA-II with a PIII 1.0GHz.
I hastily upgraded the mobo without realizing WinXP was going to complain. It would start to load Windows, then reset. I used the Windows Install disc to "fix" my installation, and that seems to have worked.
The problem:
When I boot the computer, it says "NTLDR missing", "Press CTRL+ALT+DEL". I can boot the computer if I use the install disc to go into the recovery tool, then exit. It boots fine after that.
Also, the motherboard specs describe the motherboard as having An Award BIOS. SiSoft Sandra also reports it as an Award BIOS (ver 6.0). When I inspected the board before installation, I noticed that it actually had a Phoenix BIOS. I want to update the BIOS to the latest version, but am concerned about this inconsistency. I know I saw 'Phoenix', but everything else says 'Award'.
