Is it just me or does it seem that after the install the computer will not boot for a long time? My Dual P3 667 with 256Mb Ram has been running for about 2 hours since the install - XP screen says please wait? Is this normal? I am in windows. The system booted and I received a screen at full resolution (1280*1024) with an hour-glass cursor.

Other than not knowing if the install time is long due to the changes, It seems to be okay. The HDD is still running.

That seems a little excessive. My VM-Ware Image took about 15-20 minutes to finish booting, after it got to the point yours is at now. However, I literally have nothing else loaded on that image, since it is just for testing.

I am going to let it run. Maybe it is due to SETI services (I forgot to shut them down when I killed my AV - Doon't worry, I am not plugged into a network ;) )

Maybe it is due to my lack of hard disk space. This is a test machine but it has all kinds of software on it. CAD, Graphics, Video Editing, Sound, etc... Everything we do in ur business has been put on and taken off this test system at least once. Maybe its time for a clean install.

Yeah, I would let it run. However, if it takes more than an 1 more, I would consider killing it and rebooting. SP1 has done that to me before also, and thats how I ended up having to fix it. Gotta love service packs :)
