BF Vietnam Doesnt Like AF or AA

Anybody else having this problem trying to run bf vietnam with AA or AF ? when i have both on all i get is nothing but blocks and big nasties, when i have just AF i get black squares all over the textures and when i have just AA i get random problems, soo anybody else having same probs? i have newest catalyst drivers, dx 9.0b, blah blah all that up to date stuff

I am also having this problem...

In the readme file it says that battlefield vietnam has known combatibility issues with the radeon 9800 pro...

(who would've thought?)

According to them, the workaround to the problem is to set AA and AF to "application preference" - after which when u load the game there will be no AA and AF enabled. Which of course will make the game run fine but look horrible.

The problems i was getting were horrible texture quality, giant "green things" just appearing when flying choppers, and the gun models and text on the screen just plain disappearing...

I think that it was not a good call on the part of EA to release this game with such a major flaw with a pretty high-end video card.

I can't wait for a patch to be released (anybody heard the status of a possible BF:V 1.1 patch?). Until then, i'll have to play w/no AA or AF :(:(:(

It doesn't surprise me that other people have some graphical problems....this is the first I have heard from ATI card users....

I wrote quite a few posts originally about problems I was having ,as I have a FX5900 card and you will notice that they include a update for the drivers for thosr cards....and nothing for ATI.

The graphics in this game are very intense..and have alot of density in the textures and such..,but you would think that the makers should have given us more info as to posssible problems with this before hand, or at least tested this game and worked out the bugs...beforehand.

I still have issues with the Extra graphic settings AA and AF, and originally the game would not run very well..before the latest drivers were installed..and only after doing a bios adjust..such as switching to 128 mode..setting memory mode to enhanced, and strangely...it seems to run better on more AA or AF..then it does without it...go figure....still trying to get a handle on this..

Its rather ironic that a game like this ...has more problems with a ATI card as it usually is the other way around.....who knows...ATI makes Raedon and the regular 9800Pro models..?? Raedon might have a problem and need driver support....
