Well I got my steam back up and I get an error after its finished validating game resources.

Memory would be my first guess as well. It could be other things but thats a good place to start, run the mem test for a few hours and see if it comes up with any errors.

Well I ran it for an hour and no errors came up should I keep it running for a longer period?.

Oh and I still have cs 1.5 installed could that be the problem?

Just let it run overnight, bad power supplies can cause wierd errors as well. If you have a multimeter you can test it like this

Run chkdsk, (start>run>chkdsk) take a look at your temps with speedfan...

If there's a fire next to one of the temps its to high. CPU shouldnt be over 51-55c tops.

I got my steam working,The problem was just the servers and all I had to do was choose a low latency server. As for my temps one of them has a flaming icon on it so im going to have to get some better cooling for my comp.
