This C-media sound card is built into the motherboard and is giving me some problems. First it doesn't seem to work proplerly with Direct X 6.1. Under the sound test in direct X there is no sound produced. I downloaded the most recent driver Nothing seems different. I verified the new driver is being used by the driver dates and version numbers. The next problem is with DOS games like Duke Nukem. I loaded it up and can't get any sound FX to play. I tried changing the IRQ's and nothing works. I also tried Quake with the same results-NO SOUND. I can't seem to find a DOS driver and the company doesn't respond. Any ideas. This is a new computer for me. AMD 300 proc. with 48 megs of RAM. It's operating fine for the most part. Give me some help if you can.... thanx Jake

you can get the latest drivers at winfiles.com. I have the same card and the drivers are there.

I just finished a system with that onboard sound chip. Worked fine for sound, but got blue screen fatal exceptions in several games. Tried the newest drivers, as well as beta drivers from CMI, and Direct X 6.1 ...no help still blue screens...I disabled it and put in a soundcard....worked fine then! End of problem!!
