Can't use sidewinder gamepad

My sw gp is detected in the control panel correctly, but after getting into the game, the gamepad is out of control! Does anyone know? Is the sound card is damage?
The gamepad can work in my friend.

Do you have the lastest 3.02 software, downloadable at: www.microsoft.com/products/hardware/sidewinder/force/default.htm

This software works with all sidewinder products. Also, many times than not, you need to configure the controller within the particular game.
