SB-Link.. what does it do?

I have an ABIT BX6-2 and itr has a sb-link
connector on it. There aint much in the manual about it other than it somehow hooks
to a sound blaster card. My SB Live has a modem support connector. Is this SB-Link?

What does SB-Link do for you?
