I had a chat on MSN with a friend the other day, and I wanted to get the transcript of that conversation. She managed to pull it out of MSN somehow on her Mac (I don't know how to do that on Win2k) but she couldn't figure out how to open it. She sent it to me and it has a .dat extension. I've tried Notepad, Wordpad, and MS Word, but they all show unformatted text with symbols mixed in. How can I clean this up? MSN Messenger won't do anything with it, on her Mac or my PC.
EDIT: Okay, I guess it's not really a .dat file. It had that extension while it was in my hotmail, but not since I downloaded it. Makes sense since Mac files don't need extensions. Plus the Open With dialogue was different when I added the .dat extension.
