Bios problem, help please!!!

Hello, I have a old p100 with a AOpen ap53 MB with AMI bios. Each time I boot the computer from a cold boot, the bios reverts to the default settings. Plug&Play OS turns off and the date-time reverts to 1997 too. Is it a battery problem or something, the jumper to reset the bios is correct at the default setting and I dont know what can cause that.

sounds like a classic problem with the cmos battery. look for the watch type battery and replace.

I agree with mfpage - sounds like dead battery.
