I recently went to a computer show in search of some new components to upgrade my pc and my choices might not have been wise..due to i cant get them to work.
I purchased a pc chips M950HLU socket 478 board with a intel celeron 2.6GHZ cpu (with 400mhz system bus, 128KB L2 advanced transfer cache). Purchased a new stick of 512MB DDR 133 memory. Purchased an AGP Apollo Bloody Monster3 128 MB geforce video card. I installed the board, memory and video card into my existing system and plugged everything back up and when i booted up i heard no beeps or anything. The power supply was on as well as the fan on my cpu but nothing else was happening. I have a 300 watt power supply. I checked everything over and it looked good but i may be missing something. So i had to take it all apart and reassemble my old system so i could post this message. Any suggestions at this time will be greatly appreciated..including maybe a different board that i could use this cpu and video with.

My excitement was short lived:(

300W (generic?) is way too wimpy.

The usual mistakes:

CMOS Clear jumper not set to Normal
DIMMs not seated right
Additional 4-pin power connector not connected
CPU fan not connected to CPU fan connector

Remove the board from the case, place it on a soft, non-conductive surface near the case and plug in the ATX power. Leave in the CPU and RAM. Place the vid card in and connect the monitor. Connect the power. Nothing else needs to be connected. Press down hard on the vid card and use your screwdriver to short the POWER BUTTON pins. See if it POSTs.
