Hello, I just recently purchased a Celeron 300A OEM and a few days later purchased at an online auction a Celeron HS/Fan combo.
The HS came in a box with a four-pronged flexible metal clip for attaching the CPU to the HS but there are no instructions or pictures to show hoe the clip interfaces with the CPU. The clip has a square surface covered with adhesive. The HS/Fan has a rubber cushioned square(not sure if there's adhesive under this). Anyone have an illustration I could follow for this procedure? I believe the CPU chip goes directly against the metal HS rather than the clip and I think that the preferred method of joining is through thermal compound but Im not sure what to do here.
Thanx in advance.

I did find this page but it isn't the best at showing exactly how to put it together.

If I find something better I'll post it.

The black pad on the heatsink is the interface material. It's probably fine if you aren't goin to overclock. If you plan on overclocking then it is recommended that you scrape it off and apply regular thermal grease.
There shouldn't be any adhesive on the clip. It should just be some sort of plastic that keeps the metal off of the PCB.
It might help if you could tell us the manufacturer of the heatsink. They all have a differant method of attaching the heatsink. I checked out the link kwai gave and didn't see anything other than a picture of some heatsinks. I may have been lookin in the wrong place though. Heres that link again.
