I've noticed a sudden decline in the number of (a) technical posts and (b) posts by older members never mind older mods over the past year or so. So much so, a daily read/reply has reduced to a once or twice a week.

I'm guessing certain members/events have turned them away from the site and they no longer get satisfaction from moderating anymore - it is after all a thankless job which often leads to abuse.

it always seems strange to me that people are happy to accept that what they post is tosh and offends/upsets/bores/is useless (delete as appropiate).

Must be a stronger person than I to embrace their choice of posting crud which acts as detritus to the real posts.

isn't that what the community is for? pissing off the mods and busting your boredom? seriously, if there wasn't a community here we would only need one mod. but the community keeps them all busy.

mods aren't parents, and they aren't teachers. Therefore they shouldn't have to deal with playground antics IMO.

I've said it before, and most people know my position on the matter, but while certain members are allowed to act in the way that they do, sysopt will remain IMO a poorer place. Sorry.

Its not. Between work and modding, I don't really have time for anything else. Haven't played a game in about 6 months now.
