Gulp,
I have been trying to install a Blaster Flash 56 PCI modem. It install "successfully"
but when I try to use it I get a message from Bill to the effect "Cannot read Port name from Registry." I am using an Pentium II Celeron 300 on a BH6 board.
When I check Device Manager I get a problem listed with the PCI parallel and serial controller. Windows tells me to reload drivers but where do I get them?

Thanks to the collective wisdom.

Did I read right?-you wrote PCI Parallel and Serial Controller? If so, delete it and reboot.

If you are referring to the separate LPT and Com ports, then you can delete them and reboot, but have your WIN CD ready.

When WIN see's the PCI communications device, that is when you need the drivers for the modem.

If this doesn't work, post back.

DSI has the new drivers and when you remove the remove the comports, do it in safe mode and check through every device and remove all the doubles.
Your windows{comport drivers are in C:\windows\system.
You do not need the windows disk.
Very nice modem.
They stopped making them about a month or 6 weeks ago though.

you can get almost any driver you want at www.winfiles.com. That modem should have come with a disk right?
