Okay, ill be first on this thread.

Nothing fancy, just a lot of light and a little rats nest in the corner

80mm blue and red in side blowing in

80mm blue in back blowing out

80mm blue in top blowing out

Antec true blue 2 fan PSU, 350w

2500 barton in an Iwill kk400 with a Gig o ram, pc 2700, and a modest o/c to 2039mhz running W2K from an 80 GB 7200 Maxtor master, channel one.

slave, channel one, Aopen combo dvd/cdrw

Master, channel two, memorex 52x cd/rw

slave, channel two, 60 Gb 7200 maxtor

My newly acquired ATI radeon 7500 going in there in about 2 hours.

temps average 32 sys, 42 cpu. This sits on top of my desk hooked to a KVM. Temps were about 2 degrees cooler when it was on floor.

Okay, since i mentioned the KVM ill post a pic of the new rig on the floor also on the KVM. This one is a work in progress as i get the time.

2 80mm red fans blowing in on side

1 92mm fan blowing out on top

Antec psu 300w, single fan

Old gateway server case, plenty of room.

Gigabyte ga-7dxr+ mobo with a Barton 2600 o/c slightly to 2166 mhz, 512 pc 3200 running windows 98, or xp home off of a 160 GB 7200 maxtor, master and alone on channel 1

master channel 2, 8x generic dvd/rw

slave, channel 2, baddog dvd-rom.

temps average 25 sys, 43 cpu.

Putting a 120mm in the available hole in the back as soon as i get one ( fan )

Like i said, work in progress, not much yet. Any suggestions, let me know. I want to water cool the bottom one as it has plenty of room for it.

If you wouldnt've spend all that time and money on that...you could've had a digital camera...:p

Pick up a disposable and have the developer put it on a Picture CD...every one does that now!!

Daj's Case (http://www.sysopt.com/forum/attachment.php?s=&postid=1082066) hey! I recognise that case in your pic ...better check mine's still in the house. :D

I got a second SATA drive (my drive bays looked lonesome), now I'm running RAID 0! I also bought a Vantec Fan Card (http://www.hightekpc.com/reviews/spectrum/spectrumcard.html) in preparation for the hot month's to come! I think I'm gonna have to remove 4 of the 8 LED's before I plug it in, the thing is bright like you wouldn't believe, drowns out the rest of the case lights!

Think you're gonna need it...strawbs?
I had a PCI blower like that...can't say it did squat for me...

My temps don't get above 41C on the vid card, 37C for the CPU.
I'm sure those will both raise a few degrees in summer...but, still...nothing I'd worry bout.
And...I only have 2 120's...plus the blower on my Arctic card....

Strawbs
03-12-2004, 09:28 AM
I hope not! I've put it in already, but haven't plugged it up!

My temps are about the same as yours at the moment. It's just to be certain that I don't burn anything up like I did last year when my 2600+ fried because of the case temps and no sufficient way to blow cool air through the case ...even with both sides off, doors and windows open, and an 18inch fan blowing across my work area, it was still too hot in my house!

This year I intend to climb inside the case to keep cool! :D

Started out the outside was ganna be back and the inside chrome, but the chrome and the clear coat didnt mix right so now its like a gloss black outside and a metalic black inside. Has 2 Green UV 80mm fans. Yellow heatshrink, UV IDE and floppy cable two UV cathodes. Artec CD-RW, 4 two-way switchs, card reader, and sony dvd-rw drive all custom painted, well except the sony drive cause i aint rippen that thing apart to paint it. Cut a blow hole on top along with a window in the side, and also a fan mount in the PSU. Powered by a 2800+ and ATI 9700 and some **** ram. not too bad for a $35 case. That Cathode should be hidden, and i have to do something with that PSU.

First off...Strawbs very nice case...not only does it look good, but its freakin tidy...not a wire or cable to be seen, thats one of the great things about have the HDD bays side to side instead of front to back. Very nice job.

I just ordered some green LED fans to match my case...as soon as i get em installed imma post pics. Im actually REALLY excited. Can ya tell?

First of all the pc specs:

epox 8rda+ v1.1
xp2500 @ 2800 (2ghz)
512mb pc3200 Geil
ATI 9800np
80 gig maxtor
lite-on cdrw
Sparkle 300watt

Here is the heatsink I am using except that I took out the 70mmx15mm fan and put on an 80mmx25mm.
http://xoxide.com/taisk7heatpi.html

I have one 92mm fan in the front blowing in and a 120mm blowing down from the top both hooked up to the fan controller to the bottom right of my primary monitor. The switches to the left of the baybus are for my secondary power supply and my blue cathode. The two case fans and blue cold cathode are powered by the secondary power supply.

Here are some pictures.

You must have O\C'ing in mind to want watercooling, what are your current specs\temps?

Thanks Capt* ...I prefer to tuck the wires away where possible, it makes for better Airflow!

I think i could push my CPU to 2.0/2.1 vCore with WC, who knows what i'll be able to OC with it. My graphics card is maxed though due to bad Infineon memory, so a new graphics card looks set for when the R420's are out. I dunno, i'm just pushing for WC because i've never done it before and want to get stuck into something new. :)

Strawbs,

Thanks for the compliments...the paint i got ended up not being as glossy as i originally thought it was, guess i should have paid more attention to the can before i put it on :)...the bottom of pic 1, i think the "reflection" is just a bunch of wires that make it look like a mirror image...i wish it was that shiny though, :).

The PSU is a demon black chrome 580W w/2 red LED fans...got it for 45 bucks on newegg

i have the same PSU from newegg and it's now $32 and it is awsome looking.
good idea about painting the inside. now that i had to take everything out because of a bad brend new ASUS SK8V that i have to send back to ASUS, witch would probably take forever. that gives my planty time to paint mine. thanks for the idea. :D

any thoughts????? direct the pipe toward one of the side panels where there are no eletronics and if you suffer any condensation it should stay on the side, some kind of matting in the base would soak up any water, but it might need drying out now and again! - risky, but possible - would be my analysis! If it's you only system don't bother, test it on your sister's or summink! ;)

DozerLYP
04-10-2004, 11:16 AM
ye i don't think it's a good idea, because if it's that hot in your room, and your going to blow cold air in there, it will be a lot of condensation, and water and electronc divice don't go well together.

Xe'
04-11-2004, 02:13 AM
thanks,
also i heard from a friend that a moisture filter on the tube would take care of the problem from me, however i have never heard of such a device, any thoughts. i then thought about just circulating the exhaust air from my case through the frige and then back into my case, that way i would not be adding air that had a high volmue of water already in it to my case. Essentially i would only be recycling the same air through the case over and over, except making it colder every time.
