I have a single 160 gb drive that I partitioned into a 60 and 100 gb. When I added the second partition, it only allowed me to put the drive letter E: or greater on it, as d: stayed as my cdrom.
Any way to either get my E: drive to say x or z, or to d:?
Have had no luck on microsoft's site.

Go to Start->Run and type diskmgmt.msc into the box. Right click on the drive you want to change in the window that comes up and choose "Change drive letters and paths". Don't mess around with any drives that have programs installed on, you'll only confuse them ;)

you would have to move the cdrom to another drive letter first, then you could reassign the second hdd partition to D:.

I tried it from disk management and there was no option to change drive letter after right clicking on the e: drive.
Could this be because of the western digital drive overlay software that is installed? I tried to work around that to get my system to recognize the 160 gb size. SP4 did not do the trick.
I will try from the command line.
