You've played the demo kids, now it's time you embrace the whole shebang! Atari and Epic Games just announced that they finished development of Unreal Tournament 2004, the highly anticipated follow-up to UT 2003. The game builds on the success of past installments, taking the franchise to the next level with the introduction of the hyper-charged Onslaught mode, the return of the fan-favorite Assault mode, which last appeared in the original Unreal Tournament, and the introduction of land-, air- and space-based vehicles.

Once again, we'd like to remind of the game's main features:

- Onslaught Mode: Onslaught is an epic-in-scope team-based challenge that pits two teams in bitter warfare across massive terrain maps in a frag-filled battle to destroy, capture and hold key power nodes. Vehicles play a major role as war-hardened flying and driving machines transport combatants to the "front" and serve as mobile platforms to launch devastating attacks on the enemy.

- Assault Mode: In the completely redesigned Assault mode, gamers are challenged to complete a variety of mission objectives to attack or defend bases in a bigger and badder version of the Unreal Tournament classic; many Assault maps require the use of vehicles as a critical gameplay element.

- Vehicles: Unreal Tournament 2004 features a variety of land-, space- and air-based vehicles, including buggies, tanks, hovercraft, aircraft and more

- Voice Technology: Integrated voice communications, including voice-over-IP technology to allow real-time chat with teammates and opponents during gameplay; voice recognition, allowing players to issue orders to computer controlled bots; and, text-to-voice conversion of typed chat. Voice chat includes 3D audio on supported sound cards, so players can sense where voices emanate from.

- New and Revised Weapons: The devastating arsenal of bone-crunching weaponry that Unreal has become famous for returns, with several enhancements. Many existing weapons have received model and texture updates as well as sound improvements. The game also includes all new weaponry for the massive Onslaught and Assault battles, including the massive AVRiL (Anti-Vehicle Rocket Launcher) to take down incoming vehicles, the Grenade Launcher, which discharges sticky explosives on enemy emplacements, vehicles and personnel, the Spider Mines, the vile and brutal arachnid bombs that scuttle the landscape searching for unsuspecting adversaries, and a completely redesigned and reintroduced Sniper Rifle, not seen since the original Unreal Tournament.

and more...

The game is expected to be available at retail stores worldwide on March 15.

I have never seen that site before ..and I can't believe the outrageously cheap prices for games....

Example: Black Hawk Down: Team Sabre for $12.99 delivered??
are you kidding me??

Thanks so much for this site tip..... I guess Amazon is going to have competition from me.

Prices are excellent at Play, delivery however. CD wise ive had a few battered deliveries and game wise, with Game your pre-order would be shipped a coupel days before the release to ensure you got it on the day, wheras Play dispatch on the day (and as most games are released on fridays that means getting them the week after - missing out on valuable play time).

That said, at least the delivery is free and the price reduction over GAME is rather large (about 50%)

thats true about the release dates, I rang them and they said they try to get the product at my door on the release date, but it all depends on when they get it, I usually find it comes the week after...

As for CD damage, I've never had anything damaged from them, no CD cases scuffed or anything and I've ordered a fair bit from them including card-board covered DVD collections. Games wise, this is the first I've ordered - don't usually buy games because I play them so little and get bored quickly (UT and similar are a different kettle of fish with all teh mods and similar).

To be honest with you, I'd rather save the money and wait that pay more for 4/5 days :)

I agree that to me this is a new site and vendor to deal with..and that being said..I will have to trust that everything will be OK.
The savings are so sugnificant that a day or two doesn't really matter ot me all that much...I have plenty of things to do and play right now....and the free shipping is worth it to meas it still saves without it.there is one game I want and am going to get from them and its about $22.00 cheaper. thats worth a wait..

What other sites do you guys use most often??? I use Amazon mainly in the past..as I like the full reviews and many vendors and info on each..plus..overall they have a wonderful site for all info on any given gameand a user friendly site setup.

EBGames (http://www.ebgames.com) had a SWEET deal on Unreal 2004 Special Edition DVD. It had 2 DVD's, one with the game and the other with a tutorial on making mods. It also included a Logitech headset. All for the same price as the CD version, $40 USD. But I think they sold out, as I don't see it for pre-order on the site anymore (I think I ordered one of the last few ;)). Now both of the Unreal 2004 versions come with a $20 gift coupon and a $10 mail in rebate for those of you who bought Unreal 2003: http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/product/237437.asp

Lots of unhappy bunnies in the UK, as the UT2004SE package is going for 50 quid, which is an utter ripoff, even for the biggest of UT fan's

Yeah I hear ya! personally I will probably never get this game as these type games are not what I like to play.....seems we have similar tastes in what we like....only the most discriminating consumers we are....I like War first person .and shooters-varied,as well as some good strategy games mostly...

Are games generally more over there?

Someday it would be nice to visit bloody ole England...I am about half Irish-Welsh by birthright on my moms side...the other being a full one half German..

Why didn't you guys tell me that you can only get stuff from www.play.com from Europe only.....I am so..bummed out now.

Well..that just means I will have to pay an extra $30.00 or so for all the games I order this month....

This is so funny ..because they have a North American address also..listed as contact..
