I have an IO Magic 44x drive set on cable select, connected to my IDE 2 on my Abit Bh6 motherboard, and it is set to auto in the bios. Every time the drive gets accessed it causes problems very frequently. Usually I get a fatal exeption, exemption or execution(?) error. The **** cdrom even hung up my system during my Win98 installation 4 times! The Cdrom did not come with drivers and I have no idea what company makes the disk. I tried to going to IO Magic but they had no drivers! Win 98 picks some generic 44x driver and I think that might be the problem. The cdrom hangs up the system while playing music cds with the everything getting locked up but, the music still plays. The cdrom hangs games like WWII fighters and the music continues to play. I checked the device manager and could not find any conflicts. Can someone please help me?
