I Lapped my TT Silent Boost CPU COpper Cooler and I'm sure it put 2-3 degrees ONTO the temp of my CPU....kinda weird. It was a good flat surace when I had finished...pretty shiny with no noticable grooves....polished down to 1200 grit. I was expecting a couple of degrees drop. Weird.

I read something a while back about lapping, and their conclusion was that heatsinks with "micro grooves" on the bottom were better than mirror finishes because it increased the surface area. Or something like that, I can't find the link now.

Maybe thats true fishybawb. I know that I certainly would bother doing it again.....small rough grooves are OK by me!
