IE5, how to change mail folder location?

that's where it is.
My outlook express is found on both NT and 98, what you need to do is import the files from 1 to another.

Thanks bighammer, but doesn't this just make another copy of your Mail folder? That is, do both mailboxes (outlook under Win98 and under NT) get updated each time you get a letter, or do you have to import every time you get new mail?

I honestly didn't check.
I will when I use that box next though.
I usually use 98 for my mail.

Ah, I found the solution! Under both operating systems, go to Run-->Regedit to edit the registry. Inside Regedit, browse to:

current_user->Identities->"some number"->Software->Microsoft->Outlook Express->5.0

Now click on folder "5.0" and edit the contents of the variable "Store Root" to whatever you please. This is the path that Outlook5 reads! When you change this path, it's a good idea to move your actual mail folder to that location to avoid having to import anything. Now I have Outlook Express under both W98 and WinNT storing mail in the same folder, namely D:\My Documents\Mail, and they both read this same mailbox. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

After doing a clean reinstall of everything on my computer, I decided to try out the latest IE5 beta. I installed it under both Win98 and WinNT4 (they're set up in dual-boot).
The browser is great, but my problem is changing the location of the outlook Mail folder. I need have a permanent location for mail, so that Outlook Express can locate it from both operating systems. However, when I go to Outlook Express-->Tools-->Options-->Maintenance-->Store Folder, the displayed location is greyed out and cannot be changed (this happens under both WinNT and Win98, and each has its own different mail location).
Using Outlook is ludicrous if one can't have a single place to keep their mail. So is there some other way to move the Mail folder to a suitable location?
