I have just this minute received this virus in an e-mail from cameron@dti.gov.uk (don't know the guy), embedded in "document_4351.pif" Norton AV captured it before it was downloaded!
Take heed ppl, update your AV program NOW.

Why isn't it manditory for ISPs to block these obvious viruses?
Most offer some kind of fee-per-month blocking but the majority of people won't pay what the ISPs are charging.
Its the same with SPAM. Make it manditory for ISPs to block the obvious spams and the volume would most likely drop down overnight.
I have many clients who have virus scanenrs but who don't keep them updated. No matter how often I try to drill it into their stupid think heads they will ignore me until they get infected.
I'm sick of these lazy prats who refuse to maintain their PCs and in so doing help these viruses to infect many other people's computers.
I have not been infected by ANY virus for years, but most of my clients will call me once every 4-6 months needing me to come to the rescue. I'm almost at the stage where I will simply refuse on the basis that they are too stupid to own a computer.

auto update mode here, Strawbs.
been struck by msblast 2 times.....once when the virus updater was not set to auto"(didn't have firewall also) and the other time forgot to enable the firewall after the virus was removed.
Now, i have autoupdate and firewall both enabled (automatically start when windows start.. :p). :)

I maintain our Exchange server here at work and within the last 3 hrs my AV has caught over 40 Netsky worms!! While the MyDoom was at its height we were getting over 100 per hour. I ALWAYS make sure my sig files are up to date.

by wife had two virus attachments sent to her yahoo email by "yahoo management staff" this morning. The message tricks the user to *really* believe it's from the management staff, download instructions with an unusual extention and open it. My lovely wife is smart enough to know better. She showed me; yahoo AV scanned and returned an infection. I sent them to Abuse@yahoo.com. I love my wife. :) That's as close as we've even been to having an infection.
