Hey all,
I am not sure whether this thread should go here or in the games forum, but here goes.....
My friends and I purchased a Dedicated Server from artofwarcentral.com to run Halo on. I have a FTP Program and thought that I was ready.
However, how do I run the server? Is there some obvious way that I am missing?
Thanks for any help anyone can shed on a newbie to all this!

You install the game, connect it directly to the internet (no firewalls) and start the game in server mode.

I don't think I explained myself clear enough - my bad.
I know how to run my PC as a dedicated server. What I am having trouble with is how I can run a remote computer as a dedicated server.
Thanks, (& sorry for posting in the wrong section BB)

You still haven't explained yourself well. A PC is a PC. You either run it as a workstation or not. If not, it's a dedicated server. It needs to be connected directly to the Internet or in the "DMZ" of a LAN.
You can use RealVNC to control it, if that's what you're asking.

I'll try and say it again.....
We have purchased/ rented a dedicated server via ArtOfWarCentral.com. They gave us our IP address as well as our password for connecting to the server.
In order to play any mods or anything, we have to use a FTP program to "remotely" access the game files on the server.
Our problem is, how do we run the game remotely?
Whenever I double-click on the application icon, my FTP program downloads the file. I have used two other FTP programs as well just to see if the downloading was standard...it was :(
So, how can we run the dedicated server from our/my computer(s)?
I hope that says it better. Sorry for any confusion!
Also, I did install that link you sent. Though it is useful, I cannot use it because the server is not in "listen" mode.
Please help a fool!

Perhaps you should ask the people who sold you the server.

Yeah, I was just posting here because the "turnaround" is soooo much faster, ya know?
Thanks though!
And, if anyone else should have any idea, please post away!
Thanks!:t
