In GoldenEye 2, players will explore the dark side of the Bond underworld, playing an agent who was a candidate for 00 status before being dismissed from MI6 for reckless brutality. Players will join ranks with the legendary super-villain Auric Goldfinger, fighting for control of the world's greatest criminal organization. The game is under development at EA Los Angeles for multiple console platforms, scheduled for release this holiday season under the EA GAMES brand. More details will be forthcoming at a later date.

Can't wait, loved the first one, and I do believe it took N64 to the gaming console it was

The N64 started out as an incredibly innovative system that introduced many new technologies into the gaming world, including vibration devices for the controller, and it was the first system to use a 3D acceleration chipset as part of the actual console. The PSOne had 3D games on it, but they were coded in a "fragmented" form, which means that everything was processor controlled. There was no fully dedicated graphics processor actually on board the system. Goldeneye helped start the revolution, but the reason I got the system was because of when I first saw Super Mario 64. I think that that game was what started the N64 revolution.

Goldeneye 2 announced

Yes...but will it live up to its original!

Goldeneye is probably the best game I have ever played...and will probably always think that! It will be hard to beat or even equal...even with todays technology.

Sure Goldeneye 64 was a great game, and sure I would LOVE to play a 2nd one. But, you have to think about who developed Goldeneye 64 and who is developing Goldeneye 2.

The original Goldeneye 64 was developed by Rare, one of...if not the best dev teams out there today, but since Rare was purchased by Microsoft, they won't be developing Goldeneye 2.

Goldeneye 2 will be developed by EA(I think), who in the past have released several 007 games. Neither of those games even came close to standing up to the one 007 game by Rare. Just recently has EA gotten things straight with Everything or Nothing...which isn't even a FPS.

What changes and inovations will they make to 007 for the better? Or will they just demolish the game's name...similar to what they did to C&C. ;)

DISCUSS!

EA will crush, kill, and destroy the title. You know they are fishing for bucks just by riding the name GoldenEye

what ever happened to the Perfect Dark series made by Rare? I heard some kind of rumor that it's being developed for Xbox right now, but have yet to see results. Man I want that game to come out so bad. :(
