Welcome to SysOpt! :t

Not even close -- the 9800 Pro is by far the best card on the market today for the price. If you're in the US, check here...

SAPPHIRE ATI RADEON 9800PRO Video Card, 128MB DDR, 256-bit, DVI/TV-Out, 8X AGP - OEM (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=14-102-268&catalog=48&manufactory=BROWSE&depa=0) = $212 USD shipped.

or

SAPPHIRE ATI RADEON 9800PRO Video Card, 128MB DDR, 256-bit, DVI/TV-Out, 8X AGP - Retail (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=14-102-281&catalog=48&manufactory=BROWSE&depa=0) = $225 USD shipped.

Good luck! :D

Think og the 9600XT as a good high end gamng card, while the 9800 Pro is the cream of the crop (well, behind the marginally faster 9800 XT). Given the massive price reduction in the 9800Pro it represents excellent value for money for hardcore gamers

Whats the reason for the OEM being lower in price? im still not sure what OEM means.

OEM = Video card only in a box wrapped with stuff to protect it from damage, no bundled software, no 3 year warrenty from the manufacturer, but usually comes with a 1 yr warrenty from the place you buy it

Retail = Video card, Retail Box (useless), Manuals , CD's (you can download at their website anyhow), and a bunch of little thingys for if you wanna hook up ur video card to a tv,camera,or vcr ... stuff that you normally dont need

Retail packages also come with a 3 year warrenty from the company (some companys offer less time)

That's not always the case _Mystical_Night, sometimes (as in the case here) OEM products do come with CD's and cables. This is what comes with the OEM model of the 9800 Pro at newegg.com. :D

My OEM Sapphire 9800 came with the driver CD, DVI-->VGA convertor dongle and all the TV-out cables and all that malarkey. Vasically a retail package without bundled games/demo's or documentation (if memory serves)
