The issue with the socket7 boards was an issue with the VIA chipset and the AGP. Most of the MFG's of the quality motherboards have updated the bios for more stable support of the AGP slot. Check their web sites for the most current Bios and what the update addresses. The Celeron 300a is starting to dry up as Intel is phasing away from the slot one variant. You may want to consider the Celeron 366 or 400 and if you are thinking of using an ASUS board for slot one, go with the newly released variant of the P2B that is known as the P2B-F. This is the P2B but now with 5 pci slots and support for the newer Celerons (original P2B does also w/bios rev 1007)and a future path to the Pentium III once they become more cost effective to acquire. Be sure to get Matrox's current drivers for the Marvel and also consider picking up the 8meg memory module so as to populate to the full 16meg. There is a site that offers a 3rd party module that offers a savings over the OEM module. Sorry but I didn't bookmark it when I visited the site. Good luck with whatever sys you go with. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

If you are planning to overclock, use the IBM HD. Maxtor tend to not like an overclock Ultra DMA mode. You'll need Ultra DMA with AVID Cinema. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
