With the help of good people here.... i managed to install my winxp. But now i have another problem.
I can't seems to copy or cut any files from one location to another.
There are no error messages. Just right click copy and when want to paste...the paste command is grey faded.

Just curious..does it do the same thing when you do a edit-copy, edit-paste or a ctl+c and ctl+v(shortcuts for copy and paste)??:t

This is what happens.
I have a file named records.xls in my document folder.
I wanted to copy to flash drive or floppy.
Right click the file, select copy and then go to flash drive or floppy... right click again - can see paste but faded.
No choice have to use the send to command and it works on the file.
Copying and paste of texts and pictures inside word or xls is fine.
I just don't understand why can't i paste...files ?

Tyr this:
Open "My Documents"
Click on records.xls and press CTRL+C or Right Click on Record.xls and select copy.
Close the "My Documents" Folder
Right Click on your desktop wall paper (Just make sure you do not right click on an icon)
See fi you can paste
If you can past the file to your desktop the problem is specifically related to removable devices.

Leads me to belive that some application messed up Windows. I had Ultimate Zip 2.x cause a Windows 2000 computer to crash if you tried to paste an icon on the desktop or if a program tried to place a file there.
You can try to unistall applications one at a time to see if the problem fixes itself, but you should most likely repair windows.
Boot of the XP CD. Run the install process (Do not select repair initally). After a short while in the setup program you will see a Repair option - this one detects your windows install so you use it. That should fix your copy/paste problem.
