I recently installed a paralel port scanner, I since that i have problems when turn on the computes, sometimes it doesn't turn on???
I need to remove the scanner cable from the paralel port and then turn on the computer.

I have Tekram MVP3-5B, K6-2 350, 64mb SDRAM 100, Fireball EL 5.1, Creative 24x, Mitrumi 2x/8x, Cosmos LS-120, AWE64 ISA, Newcom k56 ISA and Creative Banshee PCI.

I believe that with parallel port scanners it is vital that the scanner is turned on before the computer ( dont know why.... )

If you use a single mains switch for everything, try leaving the computer switched off when you frist power up the scanner, then after a few seconds, switch on the computer.

hope this works...

Well, i'd like to do it but this scanner don't have a switch, it powers on via software when it's used, it's Musktek ScanMagic 4800P
