A friend of mine offered to sell me his adaptec 3000s scsi raid card, but I cant seem to locate it on adaptecs site. Does anyone know anything about this card?
It seems to be a 4 internal 68pin and 4 external 68pin card. He claims its a u160, but Im not sure.
Does anyone know anything about this card? is it u160? can it handle raid 5? does this card have a bad track record or any other reason adaptec might not list it? is it cross listed?

any and all comments are welcome

thanks

Man - this is getting old. Why do you "need" RAID anyway? You can buy a whole slew of LSIU160 adapters and chain the drives together as a bunch of disks.

:D

I know Im beating a dead horse here... I found out that the last card I almost purchased had a recall on it from adaptec, thats why I was finding it cheap.

As for why I need it... I guess I figure Im using a lot of old technology, and raid5 seemed the best way to safeguard drive failure.

that and I have all this cool stuff, and no raid card to play with... ;)

sorry to wear on your patience
