I defragged my drive last week and all of a sudden, I notice it is now significantly choppier (kinda like when your HD caches). I'm not sure if it was b/c I defragged my drive or if it's something else. I removed all of my startup programs, have nothing running in the background, and it's still choppy. I can tell b/c the pointer doesn't move smoothly on the desktop like it did before...it kinda jumps around slightly.
I can run it in safe mode and don't have this problem so maybe it's a driver but all the drivers seems to be working fine.
Any help is appreciated.

It sounds like something did get corrupted; while doing the defrag did you run scandisk and let it "fix" any errors?

If you cannot find anything wrong in the device manager and have a system rescue disk you might give that a try. But most likely you are going to have to reinstall Windows.

By the way you can create a very effective rescue disk using the ERU utility on your Windows CD in the "other/misc" directory.

I've never had a problem from running Window's defragger - but scan disk is another story.

sounds like a video driver or your gui interface if it doesn't happen in safe mode
